Contact us with Accurx
You can contact a doctor, nurse or other healthcare professional online using a website called Accurx.
Urgent appointments
If you consider your condition requires you to be seen urgently by a doctor and cannot wait until the next available appointment, please inform the receptionist where the appropriate action will be taken.
To request an urgent appointment for today or tomorrow (Monday to Friday) during opening times:
- phone us on 0121 647 1385
When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.
We will use your answers to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or healthcare professional to help you.
Routine appointments
To request a routine appointment in advance during opening times:
- use your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App) or NHS App to book an appointment, screening test or vaccination
- phone us on 0121 647 1385
If you call the surgery, please call as close to 8am as possible. You will be offered the first available appointment on that day. If you wish to see a specific doctor, please inform the receptionists, who will do their best to accommodate you.
Morning surgery runs 8am to 11am, and afternoon surgery runs 3:30pm to 6pm. These times can vary.
If an appointment is not available that day, you will be asked to telephone the surgery the following day at 8am.
DNA (Did Not Attend) Appointments
A DNA (“Did Not Attend”) appointment is when a patient does not attend their booked appointment and does not contact the surgery to cancel it. Missed appointments cause delays, reduce availability for other patients who need care, and increase pressure on the practice.
In November 2025, we had a total of 183 missed appointments. This consists of 52 GP Appointments, 100 Nurse and Health Care Assistant Appointments and 31 Clinical Pharmacist and Paramedic Appointments.
In the past month, a total of 41 hours and 30 minutes of clinical appointment time has been lost due to patients not attending their booked appointments. This cost our surgery an estimate of £1700 just last month.
If you cannot attend your appointment, please contact the surgery as soon as possible to cancel or rearrange an appointment on 0121 647 1385, This helps us offer the appointment to another patient in need and ensures our clinical time is used effectively.
Queries
Accurx is the quickest way to get in touch with the surgery for non-urgent medical advice, administrative queries, and prescription requests.
Submitting your request through Accurx allows our clinical and administrative team to review it promptly and respond efficiently, often faster than by phone. It also lets you provide the maximum necessary information, helping us direct your query to the right person without delay.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.
Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.
If you need help with your appointment
Please tell us:
- if there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond

- if you need an interpreter

Home visits
Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible. In this respect, if you do need a home visit, you can help us by calling reception before 11am.
You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. Please bear this in mind and be prepared to provide suitable details to enable the doctor to schedule house calls.
You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
